Burmese alabaster Buddha ...

'Shakyamuni' Buddha sitting in 'dhyanasana' position on a double Lotus throne with 'bhumisparsa mudra' hand position. Ava style. Alabaster, partly painted red and gilded. The 'ushnisha' was missing when I bought the sculpture at an auction, so I must admit that the one you see on the photos is my recreation. Burma, believed to be from ca. 1800, but if you know better, then tell me. Height 62 cm. Very heavy ! I estimate a weight around 25 kg ! So hardly brought back by a tourist as air baggage !
