When collecting oriental rugs and carpets you're faced with a dilemma: Antique but worn or mint condition but new. I have a small collection of rugs and carpets in both categories. From China, Egypt, India, Iran, Pakistan and Turkey. Big and small. This prayer rug is my latest acquisition. New from Turkey, Hereke ? What do you think ? Silk and metal thread. 1.68 m x 1.01 m. Can you translate the texts ? From the Koran, I guess ?
