Matchbox Monday
Today's bonus episode of matchbox Monday features a Boeing hydroplane. This is not a matchbox but we will place it under that category.
This is a 2008 advertising giveaway. This piece was created to spread the word of Boeing's environmental message. The back explains how the new 787 has a smaller carbon footprint than other planes before it.
The 787 made its maiden flight on December 15, 2009. For the past 2 years or so, I worked as a final assembly mechanic for Boeing. I mainly worked on the 737 NG & MAX planes and the 767. Before that I spent 13+ years in carbon fiber manufacturing. We produced and supplied all the materials for the 787, including carbon fiber prepreg, CF cloths and other fiberglass cloth materials.
