    my aunt gave it to me while going through grandma's things -she said it's ugly. I think it's fantastic but know nothing about it. It appears to have real gold and is very old.

      I don't think this is ugly, just the opposite! I love those "heavy painted" Victorian vases. Unfortunately I don't know too much about them. I think this is fantastic too.

      can you post a photo of the bottom of the pot? that can often tell us more than anything about it.
