brass ashtray (#1)

One of two for today, simply because both were kinda handy while I was taking other pics... ;-)

This one is round, about 7-1/2" around and 1-1/2" deep, weighing a little over half a pound. It seems nicely made, the twist motif edge and 4 cigarette rests are solid pieces closely mated (soldered?) to the main dish shaped part. The 4 spots on its bottom are where there used to be stick on felt/etc, there is also only the remains of a small square paper label. Maybe I'm imagining it, but I believe I can make out just enough of part of that to get "MADE IN USA", but not nearly enough to guess anything else...??

I've had this one for years, probably from a junk store for a buck or two. It was 'used' when I got it -- as can be seen it remains 'used', only cleaned lightly with a soft kitchen sponge for the photos.
