Found this valet at a thrift shop this week ($30). It is solid brass. My wife will actually get some use out of this.
I do have a question. Even though I could polish this to get it back to a shiny brass, should I? Does this patina add to its value?
I don't know about "value" monetarily, but I (personally) would certainly enjoy it more with the patina it has earned during its lifetime - especially when showing so evenly and neatly as your valet appears in the pics. A different kind of "value" perhaps, but a value anyway, at least to me...?? :-) :-) :-)

Nice find! I have one very similar to yours. I didn't polish mine as I personally like the patina. I think I like the feet on yours much better than mine.
