Anywone have any idea why this little pitcher has a stem sticking out the side?

    I am trying to identify why this little pitcher has an extra stem. The piece on the side doesn't have a hole to the larger part of the pitcher. The extra stem is also way too small for ice. Any information would help!!!

      First though was a Nelson inhaler, but if if doesn't connect...maybe its just a handle?
