18th Century Dummy Board "Silent Companion"

From the internet: Dummy Boards’ are flat, oil painted figures in trompe l’oeil- often life-sized (sometimes smaller), which were placed around the house: in halls, corridors, by fireplaces and on staircases.
This one is "well worn" but I couldn't pass him up. He looks like a street sweeper.
