I came across this lamp at an antique store which is Barn full of antiques.
It has so many things in it you can spend two days looking. I was looking at another lamp oh, and the lady talked me into buying this one. I paid $40 for it and cleaned it up really good. The lampshade looked like it was missing something oh, because of the rim around the top but they can't. I found this antique glass top that fit perfect. I think it completes it. Just my opinion. I'm really curious of the value, I saw one close to it that was rare and from the 1920s. It also has Rembrandt on the bottom of the lamp and the number is R9229, my other Rembrandt is very close to the same except it's gold and the number is only one off of the other one R9228. I'd like more information on it if anybody knows?
Some people may not like the marriage of the top, to me it does not look right.

Thank you for your comments Phil. It just looked like something was missing on the top of the lamp. I took it off after reading your comment. You were right. It looks like ET. LOL I also have falkenstein lamp.
I have a very similar lamp - different base (more art deco) but the shad is the same. I'd also wondered if something wasn't missing. I'm continuing to search for ads from the period that might show it.
I’m glad you took that white top piece off! I agree with others - it didn’t look right.
Am I seeing small holes all around the rim?
If so, they may have held prisms dangling around the edge …..they would have made interesting light patterns on the wall. You can buy replacement prisims.

The lamp originally came without the top the lake came without the top. It looked like it was missing something something and I found this and put it on and put it on. So I took it off after I read your messages. Thank you all! I came across another Rembrandt lamp very soon lamp very similar to this one.. But this 1 is signed.
