Are they dated 1969 charmsomeone? I'm only asking because I'd guess your fixtures to be somewhat newer, I think I remember similar being popular more abouts 1990's or so (maybe?) when "track lights" were all the rage -- lights like this used the same sockets/swivel hardware but mounted on a different base to be used in (fixed) locations where the 'track' part of track lights wasn't practical.

Hi AnythingObscure yes it is stamped 1969 on the back. They are very heavy. They can be moved up and down side to side.
