cause we stuck them under the wood stove for a 100 years....lol bought them cheap the at the hardware store...and if you didn't try'en split wood on them they last forever ...lol
unlike the modern 'noodle' boards that protect the top of a stove, these stove boards were placed under the old wood burner to protect the floor finish...
