gray painted wooden stool

This little 4-legged stool has a 14" seat with turned legs and spindles. I don't think it approaches 'antique' by a long shot, but is old enough to have been seemingly well built and remaining perfectly sturdy, I'll guess maybe 1970's. (??) I'm not sure what kind of wood it is made from, the grain can still be seen under the seat and indeed shows just a hint of evidence that it might have been first painted red. (in the grain that's not now covered in the gray, that is)
