Here are two (more) examples of battery operated light flashers, as commonly found attached to barricades and orange barrels warning of hazards at road/street construction sites. The orange colored one would take a pair of large 6v. lantern batteries and has a lens making its light viewable from both sides, the yellow one takes four "D cell" batteries (I think?) and has a single sided lens on it.

The orange one is "EMPCO-LITE MODEL NO. 100", and the yellow one is a "ToughLite 2000". These two are now joining my existing collection of prolly 6-8 other similar lights, none of which are exactly the same. :-) :-) :-)
