the box is very well constucted , interesting symbols inside the bottom ofthe box and on the inside of the lid, fancy hardware, unknown purpose, I would love to hear any opinions

Looks like it could be for transport with those big bolts. What are the dimensions?
5 1/2 inches in length 3 inches in Height 4 1/4 inches , It seem to be missing knobs or such . The numbers mystify me, appeard to be Japanese, Chinese.
