Hello I was looking at some rings online last night and saw some interesting stones , I was surprised by the prices of some of the antique rings. Made me wonder about all the ones I have but not done anything with, like this 3.85ct stone that I think might be a Ruby ? Would have been a stunning gold ring when it was mounted. The bad thing is I know nothing about it. Age where it is from,

So beautiful, and by the pinkish color it looks like it's a Burmese ruby, if it is old enough, I believe that they are top quality, and not sure they even mine them in Burma anymore! Worth having a knowledgeable and reputable gem specialist look it over, I am not an expert myself, just a lover of rubies for many years!

Thanks faith good help as I will have a look at Burmese, I will eventually get around to taking them somewhere. Got them from a guy who used to buy scrap gold. He had no interest in stones

Think your spot on with Burmese Ruby looking at some stones and they look exactly the same, prices are unreal
