This is a 16” x 17” wooden platter that is hand carved from a single piece of wood. It is beautifully painted in bright colors and gold script. The piece has been varnished and is a in fair condition. There are no etchings or stamps indicating origin or maker. Can anyone give me info on this piece?

Welcome to CW! It is always good to include an image of the backs/bottoms of things. You get four images, so might as well use them!

It's decorated in the Pennsylvania Dutch style. Hard to say how old it is given this type of decorated ware is still readily available on the market.

BTW, Hoofrx, this site has been breaking down, feature by feature, over the past few years. Barnaby's "technical staff" has no clue about how to maintain it. The first thing to break after they took over were the two images at the top that used to take you to the last post you looked at (left image) and next newest image you had not yet looked at (right image). Now lots of stuff is broken including the check which you could check to be notified when someone commented on your post. Lots of spam comments on this site now, too. Barnaby has abandoned this site.
