Welsbach "Thrift" Gas Heater – Seeking More Information!

This Welsbach "Thrift" Gas Heater has been a part of my family for as long as I can remember. While we've never used it for heating, it has served as a charming decorative piece over the years. I'm eager to learn more about its history and any details that can help identify its origins and significance.

Some features of the heater include clay burner caps and a wire gauze screen. The claw supports are stamped with what appears to be "G408," but I haven't been able to find any references or information about this stamp.

On the back plate, there is a No. 1000 marking, which doesn't seem to match up with any of the patents I’ve found, so I’m unsure whether it’s a model number or serial number.

Given that this piece is likely from the post-WWI era, I’m sure it has some fascinating stories to tell. If anyone has insights or knowledge about this heater, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you!
