Large copper (or brass alloy?) vessel, double handled, with lid. Dovetail joiners. Some green oxidation. All non-magnetic. Weighs 13.5lbs. Approx 2' tall x 1.5' diameter. No markings decipherable (to me). Found in the Midwest US, but no context clues otherwise. Any insights welcome - especially relating to age, origin, use, name (vase, jug, tank?!), market value. Thank you!

I have not seen one for years, its a milk jug. I have seen one advertised as a Belgium one. look under Belgium milk jug. Love this piece. In the 40's our milk cans, look in images, had the handles just under the top, like the main ones were !~

This one has that hammered jug construction that when silvered, made it look so very gorgeous !~

Or in copper it , the bigger milk cans as we called them, were gorgeous also. The milk cans contained fresh milk with fairly high content of cream were sent or took to town where the farmers would get a check next week.. We luckily had a faily big basement where they were saved for about 3-5 days before taken in. The cans would be emptied so that they were ready emptied for return the same day !~
