I should just copy and paste as I am posting from my phone but anyway.....
Deinotherium went extinct a million years ago. It tended to be larger than an elephant at 13 feet tall and 11 tons. Not sure it was an elephant or not. The tusks grew from the lower jaw I stead of the upper jaw and there a few other more subtle differences. But good chance there is a relation.
The name means terrible beast.
