This artwork has beautiful lines and a highly imaginative design. Having been buried in the soil for over 5,000 years, it has been severely eroded and exhibits significant calcification.
Many jade artifacts from the Hongshan Culture of the Neolithic Age in China feature a similar central hole, the most famous being the Jade Pig Dragon. However, I personally prefer to interpret this as a representation of an embryonic state, documenting the various stages of its growth. This is truly fascinating. Other pieces in my collection bear witness to this.
