Here is a cute little Welz vase I won on eBay AU last week! I could not resist showing it with the miniature daffodils which have just appeared in my garden...
The vase is made from cased spatter glass, clear over yellow & white. It measures 12.5 cm tall, 2.5 cm across the square top rim, & 4 cm across the square base. There is applied enamel decoration of a blue flower with gilded accents.
This grabbed my attention due to the square section...I think it could be rare. Peggy has this same decor with the blue flower in the hexagon shape.
Made by Welz, late Victorian era.

The vase looks right at home with the daffodils. I also had a round one with a tall neck. I think that this type of shape provided an area for a larger motif which is more eye catching than the small dot patterns they often used,
Many thanks, Peggy!
