I bought this small Chinese Ming Buddha at an internet auction. Varnish gilded bronze, sitting in dhyanasana on throne, wearing a simple robe, right hand liftet in dharmachakra mudra. 16th century. Height 14.5 cm. Weight 527 g. Early ?, middle ? or late 16th century ? Maybe you know ?

Absolutely amazing!! Great find!
i am totally ignorant in this , but why is this a dharmachaka, , you can,t represent a cosmic wheel and the hands aer, not clenced
it is not a buddhi mudra or vitarka
mudra either because the outside fingers don,t touch
maybe this is an shakyamuni amitabia and not an astamangale IMO
i am guessing but maybe the stylised an abhaya mudra
Thanks Prostata ! My desciption comes from the auction company. When you're sure about a more precise desciption, please tell me !

The question about authenticity always comes up in cases like this one. The auction company is wellknown and respectable with experienced experts in several fields, including oriental art. I see no reason not to trust them.
