This is a beautiful sculpture of a Walrus head and a Bowhead Whale, carved into a fossilized and very large Walrus Jawbone by artist Sam Gordon Dimmick, from Nome, Alaska. This has a Walrus Head carved into the front with the tusks made from Walrus Tusk. It also has a Bowhead Whale carved and polished that goes from one side, over the top, and finishes on the other side. The eyes of the Walrus and the Whale are made of inlaid Whale Baleen.

This very heavy sculpture measures 11 1/2 inches long by 7 1/2 inches high by 9 1/4 inches wide. Sam began carving when he was 4 years old. At 20 years old, he was working as an aircraft mechanic when he felt the pull back to carving. He began watching the Elders work in order to learn from them, and now Sam's work is in museums and private collections all over the world.

@PhilDMorris I have another from Sam Dimmick that I haven't put up yet. It's a trinket box made from Walrus Tusk, Whale Baleen, and Walnut for the base. I'll put it up here soon :)
