When one thinks of the Art Nouveau period, the visions of William Morris's vines, tendrils, flowers and decorative borders come to mind.
But that's Viennese Art Nouveau. Germany had their own version called JUGENDSTIL translated to Young Style. The designs and motifs being bolder, more graphic and stylized, Presented is a 1/2 liter, 4 1/4" beer mug glazed in gray, navy blue and dark Sienna. The maker,
Merkleback & Wick. It may have had a pewter lid at one time.
