I found this etching by Daniel Meisner (1585-1625) from the early 17th century in the local thrift store. Moralizing text in Latin and German. In the background we see the Danish town Helsingør (English name Elsinore) as it looked at that time. In the foreground fighting Roman soldiers in the Swedish town Helsingborg on the other side of the sea. 13,5 cm X 17,0 cm. The Romans never got that far up North. That kind of historic inaccuracy was taken lightly in the old days.
