I found this at a local thrift shop the other day. It's kind of funny, because just the other day, I was watching one of Peter Comb's videos on Chinese antiques and he was singing the praises of these revolving bookcases and said 'If you ever see one, get it!
Well, I did. Invented by John Danner of Canton Ohio in 1876, this american walnut bookcase is 61 inches high and holds ALOT of books and makes them very accessible. It has 3 shelves - the bottom one is for over-size books and it revolves on a noiseless caster on top of porcelain wheels. Apparently, they were very well made and last forever.
I'm very happy with it!

wonderful bookcase, clever design
Thanks Newfld!
