I believe this was my wife's great grandfather's toy. He served in the US Marines in Cuba during the Spanish American War. I don't know how old it is and if it is rare.

I recently saw one similar to the picture you posted at an antique shop nearby. I will go look at it closely and let you know. It appeared to be a small cap and ball pistol.
