This is a 26" table lamp that I purchased for mama in the late 1960s. Similar lamps were widely available back in the day due to interest spurned by the release of the movie Gone With The Wind. GWTW is really somewhat a misnomer as this style of lamp was not known to be available during the civil war era. These lamps were available at most any big box store of the 1960s and 1970s era, and there really is no specifically known provenance as the manufacturers would put together the lamps from pieces gathered from multiple sources. This one was actually purchased at the local Kmart. These are also called parlor lamps or hurricane lamps.

I love this lamp!! My mother has a lamp that is very very similar to this one. I believe she and my father purchased this back in the late 1950s or early 1960s.

TallCakes, My mother tells me that even back in the late 50's they still paid quite a bit for the lamp she has. So, I'm guessing this too was a pricy lamp in it's day.
The lamp she has can either light the bottom portion, the top portion or both simultaneously. Does your lamp do the same? Just curious.

yep, this one has three-way switching to light top, bottom or both. The bottom bulb is a small 10w bulb which is fairly dim tho'.
