No, I'm not starting an ashtray collection, just liked the form and color (and the glow, of course). The top says Chase Brass, not sure if it is made by Chase, but it's cool, nonetheless. If anyone knows more about this, please let me know! The bottom says "Slide top approved for patent".

it was made by chase:) they did do copper and brass in the earlier years.
