    I am unsure of what these patches are for. All I know is that I believe they are from the 1950s and from the Army. Any help is appreciated.

      Looks like Specialist 5-- same pay grade as a SGT. The rank was discontinued in the 1980s.

      Only Specialist (E-4) remains as a rank today.
