This is a black Braun travel alarm clock AB313. On the inside of the lid it lays out the time differential of various places around the world against Greenwich Mean Time. If you press down the off alarm button a small torch on the side lights up. Best of all it has voice activated alarm cut off.
I am still in shock that something I bought about 30 years ago and use everyday is now considered a collectable. I love this little clock for the voice activated alarm cut off, and I couldn't live without it.

This is my third Braun alarm clock. The first one I bought when I was at school, about 1978-9 and was bigger than any I saw when I looked on eBay. Unfortunately that one died when my bedside lamp melted the top of it. My next one fell of the bedside table one too many times. Thanks for looking and thanks for the extra info. I was sure I bought this in the 80s, but obviously not.
