  1. I originally posted the watch as a Miss Liberty but have since found out due to a slight difference in the case design it is not. Not wanting to put incorrect information on the web I have changed the...
  2. If the serial number on the inside of the case back starts with a 9 then your watch was manufactured in 1929. I can't make out a date code on the movement. The date code for a 1929 movement would be a...
  3. Thank you for the additional pictures. Even though the watch is working it needs to be serviced by a watchmaker. I'm sure the watch needs a C.O.A. (clean oil adjust) If not it will be only a matter of...
  4. Patricia M9 means the watch was made in 1969. Without a picture of the front it's impossible to tell what model it is. Bob
  5. President and Senator were both Bulova models. I was thinking yours was a President but Presidents seem to all have 21 Jewels. I saw a 53 Senator with 17 jewels but it didn't look like your watch.
  6. Sorry no I don't know what the model is. I did search for it for a while. I'm sure I've seen it before. I know that two tone dial was advertised by Bulova as a shadow dial back in the day.
  7. L1=1951
  8. Tarnish on the bracelet just gives it character in my opinion. 75 year old beauty. :)
  9. It looks magnificent to me already. You got the whole package. Watch, bracelet and box! looks to be all original. I would do a C.O.A. and leave it at that. Great looking watch.
  10. Oh ok I'm not too green with jealousy! 1 of 1000, 18k solid gold and my birth year to boot! Lord Elgin is one of my favorite brands. Congratulations on a wonderful watch. :)
  11. Your welcome, but please take your watch to a jeweler or watchmaker. This watch needs oil. It's like driving your car without oil. It will be only a matter of time before it does damage to the movemen...
  12. Hi Filmnet. Just because your watch is self winding you can still wind it manually. You should be able to set the date by pulling the stem out in stages. If not than you will have to keep moving the ha...
  13. Your watches movement has a triangle date code so that would mean the movement was manufactured in 1935. According to a theory discovered by a panel member at mybulova .com the first number of the cas...
  14. Wonderful restoration, I love it! The bracelet looks brand new! Was that restored too? Congrats on a beautiful watch.

  18. One of the worst things someone can say to me is " who needs a watch when we have cell phones" Just look at this thing! I love it! Bob
  19. Any info on the back?
  20. Hi Missy That's a pretty unique piece you have there! This place might be able to restore your watch as I believe they have the ability to make their own parts. I have had many vintage watches resto...
  21. I think what you have is a 1946 Bulova Ambassador. Although it could be the President. Both watches are similar. You would have to open the case and look at the movement for a date symbol to get a man...
  22. Thank you all for your comments and votes! Bob
  23. Kerry, another very reliable source http://rondeau.net/stock.html Bob
  24. Thanks Kerry, Sorry no I don't have a reference manuel, but you could email the admin of this site. http://hamiltonwatch.info/home.htm He might be able to help id your watch. Bob
  25. This watch has been ID'd as a 1954 Winchester at mybulova.com Bob
  26. Very cool piece! Gruen factory was called Time Hill. http://www.pixelp.com/gruen/1917.html
  27. I would agree with the above post. The watch looks to be from the 40's. You would have to open the back and look at the movement for a date code symbol. Here's a link to the Bulova date code chart. h...
  28. Tried to look up your watch in Complete Price Guide to Watches. Found one very similar to yours except the case was not engraved and the numbers were not as fancy. Listed as Illinois 15-19 jewel Gener...

  31. Thank you cindyjune :)
  32. Thanks Jason
  33. Wow does that bring back memories!
  34. Hi Moonspinner, You should take it to a watchmaker or a jeweler who uses a watchmaker and have a C.O.A. Clean oil and adjust. Bob
  35. Curtis thank you for making the clock even better than my expectations. Every time I look at it a smile comes across my face :) Bob
  36. Watch Id'd as a Lord Elgin Glencove as per 1957 magazine ad
  37. Dennis I found it! I give you the Lord Elgin Glencove. I have a picture of the Dec.9th 1957 magazine ad for this watch but I don't know how to post it in the comment section of this site. I will post ...

  39. Thank you all for the 3 loves it votes Bob
  40. After contacting Bulova requesting information on this watch this is what they said. The white dial is called a Berkshire and the black dial is a Air King. Both examples are from 1955. Bob
  41. Your Accutron was manufactured in 1969. Look on the back of the watch. The m9 is a date stamp. M9=1969. Complete Price guide to Watches lists most of that era's Accutron's at around $250.00 to $350.0...
  42. Hi Mike I don't actually own the watch so I can't give you anymore info. My fellow members at mybulova.com are trying to id this watch without much success. This one is a real puzzle. Bob
  43. It appears your watch was mfg in Spain. 17 rubis = 17 jewels. not much help I'm afraid but that's all I can come up with. Bob
  44. Hey Mike thanks for sharing your vintage watches. I'm always happy to see a fellow collector who appreciates the history of these watches Bob http://bobswatches.webnode.com/
  45. Dave, the 10bm refers to the movement. I did a google search on bulova 10bm and sure enough this watch popped up. Unfortunately so did a lot of other watches that used the 10bm movement. Thank you for...
  46. I saw a circa 1965 Camaro in the price guide. Very similar to yours. It had a mint price of $1600.00 for the 14k and $950.00 for the S.S. version Bob
  47. I checked the price guide, but didn't see this particular watch. I think it's called a Precision. Just like it says on the dial. Find a watchmaker in your area and he will be able to make this watch r...
  48. Wow theses watches are just beautiful! The dials are obviously a re-dial, but expertly done. Did you have it done or did you buy them that way? You said you would love to own a reissue of the Ventura...
  49. I looked this watch up in price guide. I found one that looks like yours. It was listed as circa 1955 14k gold 17 jewels with fancy lugs. It had a value of 500.00 in mint condition. Is yours gold or...
  50. I think the watch was sold with a metal bracelet, It sold for 50.00 dollars back then. Quite a bit of money back in the 30's. follow this link to see a vintage ad for the watch. http://www.boomertime....
