not a seed pot, but a nice small pot. A seed pot would be enclosed with a small hole in the top. These were used to store seeds so that mice could not eat them.
Good luck. I, for one, would not part with it. I will pass my pottery on to my children.
After looking at my own Lucy Lewis pot, the paint (for lack of a better word) on the inside lip of the pot is similar. Nice find! I, for one, believe it is authentic.
If you take your fingernail and scratch the bottom of the pot (gently) you should be able to smell the pine pitch.
