Here's another tiny bowl i picked up the other day from Urban Ore in Berkeley. Is it Chinese or Japanese? Can anyone read the inscription on the bottom? any idea of age?

thanks idcloisonne. i think it's too big for sake, but a nice bowl for miso/bonito.

thanks jim, TubeAmp, and idcloisonne! the bowl is 4.5" across, by 2.5" tall and the foot is 1.25" across. Rice bowl sounds right to me.
