Hi - I bought this hand carved and painted duck about 25 years ago. It's quite light, so would definitely float, but I have no idea if it is a real decoy or just a decorative item. Can anyone help? It's pretty much life size and the base curves up at the back, under the tail. Thanks for any light you can shed on this!

I forgot to say - I bought it in the UK, not the USA. And yes, it's made of wood, though I don't know what sort.

I have seen decoy duck on ebay.uk. I think this is a decoy duck.

To me it looks decorative with an interesting paint job!

Decorative only, definitely not a working decoy.
