This item is a recently restored (partially), 1930's Aladdin No.50 desk lamp, manufactured in Muncie Ind. I stripped it of it's old flaky paint and left it a type of distressed metal/industrial look. I like this look over the painted style. Any thoughts? Leave it or repaint it?

Leave it. Looks great as is. It doesn't need a 2015 paint job.

I have one of these on my desk with much the same finish, though mine is from time and wear. It's a classic, it's not supposed to look new, enjoy it as is.

Yes enjoy it has it is. Or get some charcoal paint and give it a thoughtful oce over has shabby chic. I personally hate shabby chic and have another name for it!

I recently bought one, I replaced the cord and guts out, the part with the switch and where the bulb screws in. It's missing the diffuser but is still a unique usable antique. I believe the patent date is May 9, 1909 but it's hard to read.
