    This lamp is about 12 inches tall. Solid copper. Received it from a old friend that had died at 99. Was wondering if anyone knows what kind of glass that went between her hands to hide the light bulb. Maybe I am wrong it could of been something different. I was thinking maybe it was a glass shaped like a cape

      Hi, nice Lamp. I have one similar. Mine is made of Cast Iron. I believe yours is probabably made of white metal or pot metal, with copper plating. I have never sen this type of lamp cast in solid copper. It can be determined by find a spot on the bottom and making a small scratch, if it looks silver it's pot metal.This is not a bad thing and does not devalue the lamp as most lamps of this type were pot metal. The shade would have been probably been a flat ectched piece in a art deco shape of glass or maybe a shield shape. I had a piece of stain glass made for mine, which you can see here:
