    Haven't seen this sort of design before. I did some online research and found similar ones. I haven't cleaned it or done anything else to it. Not sure what the metal is, but it appears to be cast iron. The cracker has a nice weight to it.

      paris1925 - thanks so much for the information! I agree with the lack of usefulness. I would think the nut would shoot off out of the side. I'm in the Netherlands.

      I had one looking time ago :-)
      They can fold both sides to adjust to the size of the nut, you close your hand around the nut and the device and... crack with the other hand!
