My Grandpa (pictured right) and his brother Walter had home-made snowmobiles before anybody knew what snowmobiles were! I'm glad my great Uncle Wally put a date on his machine. I don't know if there are Harley Davidson parts on their contraptions or if they just liked Harleys and put the name on their machines. I remember my dad telling me they actually worked.

I sure hope there was a fender or guard on the tire! Ah the enginuity of youth. May well have been the first snowmobiles. Love them, thanks for sharing.

All of the 'mechanicals' are either Harley-Davidson or home built, a lot of collectors would kill someone to get those parts today !!
