That is by far the nicest floor ashtray I have seen!!! And yes the time frame is correct.Great choice in color when refurbed.Did you do it yourself?

Nice Art Deco Smoking Stand. I would say your right on, late 20's early 30's. I don't think the press glass insert is correct to the piece, while it does fit. A black glass, or jadeite glass ashtray would be a better fit. The rectangular piece on the back of the stand is for a box of wood matchs. The outside of the match box sleeve would slide down around the rectangular metal and hold the box in place exposing the match tips for easy access. Are there any marks cast into the bottom?

Great piece!! I have one of these stands, and this is the only other one I have ever seen. I also have never been able to identify the maker..... There is a number on the underside of the ashtray ring, and also a different one under the base, but no name. Yours has been repainted, as the original is a kind of dull nickel finish, and it had some polychrome colors applied to it. Ours retains some of the original polychrome which is a deep red.

I bought ours off of ebay a very long time ago, and it was simply advertised as a "Screaming Art Deco Ashtray Stand"

We have had ours for around 15 years now.... and without a doubt, it is a permanent part of our collection.
