I simply love this ashtray stand, unfortunately I cannot find any info on this item...I assume it's art deco maybe 20s or 30s...Any ideas please email chameleon5657@hotmail.com

Nice Art Deco Smoking Stand. I would say your right on, late 20's early 30's. I don't think the press glass insert is correct to the piece, while it does fit. A black glass, or jadeite glass ashtray would be a better fit. The rectangular piece on the back of the stand is for a box of wood matchs. The outside of the match box sleeve would slide down around the rectangular metal and hold the box in place exposing the match tips for easy access. Are there any marks cast into the bottom?
