I have had this for years. Large - 12 x 12 Inch (plus the wood frame). This is homemade, but I am not sure if it is from a kit - I never saw anything like this. All the mosaics are made of opaque glass. They all have raised lines of different widths on them.

The background cream colored pieces are like little individual tapered-edge bricks. They are a little smaller on top and taper outwards towards the bottoms. All the colors look like they have tapered edges. There are a few copper-dust pieces in the neck. Looks like clear glass with copper dust.

ALL of the colors look like they have a 'sandy' quality. Only the red and black are solid colors. And his white eye. All the others look like they have white flecks in them, or masses of bubbles?

HEAVILY glued onto the plywood base, looks like only two little pieces in his neck are missing (I just noticed!).

ANYONE have any ideas? Thanks for looking!

This is cool Celiene, I would give this to my brother-in-law for his collection of chicken things. Mainly what we have given him over the years, just because he has chickens, so he must collect chicken stuff! :^)

LOL - that's usually how it works!

I love mosaic art like this. My guess is it would be a kit around the same time as the gravel art kits were popular, maybe? Handsome fellow! :)

I don't think it's a kit - I'll post a pic of the back - it's totally homemade (Handmade?). I just have never seen tiles like that. And I can't think of what they were originally intended for?

      Hi Celiene,
This is a lovely rooster image. Keep it in sight, after 1/18 we will be in the Asian Year of the Rooster, supposed to bring good luck!
