This MobilOil cabinet was first a part of my great grandfathers mechanic shop. It’s been sitting in the same garage for decades now and I finally decided to wipe the dust off of it. I’ve found several other MobilOil accessories around the garage. The only issue I have is that the base of the globe, the part that screws it onto the top of the cabinet, has a clean break all the way around the base. I know that it is porcelain... but I’m wondering if there is a proper way to reattach the broken off piece so that I can screw it back onto the top and see the globe lit up. That would be a wonderful thing to see.

Very nice!I would personally try some quality clear epoxy to glue the broken piece.Clean it all carefully before hand (when in doubt, use only dawn dish soap). What have you got to loose!I have seen rare broken globes in others collections before,at least it exists and has your families history to boot!BTW this is a quiet valuable item you have, take good care of it!And welcome!Gargoylecollector
