I picked this up at an antique mall in South Haven Michigan. Is this a lamp base? What makes me question it, is that when the threaded top part is taken off, the hole does not go through, so a wire would have to run down exposed. Is there anything else this might be?
Also, not sure why the pics post in that orientation or how to change?

It is a very poorly made reproduction of a candle holder that was trashed and somebody thought it might be good in an antique store. You should post pics through your desktop computer where you can change their sideways tilt. That is on the rules part of being on this site.

I have to agree with Phil. It looks as if someone painted the "Patina" more than it being natural patina. Sorry.

And just to add, I believe we have all made mistakes like this or sometimes worse but that's how we all learned! Try try again!!!

It does not go through peoples skulls to fix their photos. I knew not to expect anything from B72 !~

Gee, sorry for ruining your day PhilDMorris. Next time I will run right home from my camping trip or try to find a local library and get on a desktop to fix the photos for you. At first, I appreciated you telling me about how I needed to fix the photos (by doing it from a desktop) because as I stated, I could not figure it out how I was posting on my phone. Your caustic attitude will not ruin my day, but have my sincerest apologies.
