This is an original and extremely rare Dante program. I acquired this from one of Dante's surviving relatives many years ago.
Danish born Harry August Jansen (Dante) grew up in Chicago, where his interest in magic flourished. In addition to becoming a vaudeville performer, he opened a magic shop where he sold novelties, pocket tricks, parlor magic effects and made a specialty of building custom stage illusions. Jansen went on to manage the workshop of Howard Thurston, whom re-christened Jansen with the stage name of "Dante" and sent him on tour in 1922.
I have never seen another copy of this program, even in pictures. The art work is stunning and the colors are magnificent! This program is in good condition and I have carefully framed it making sure to preserve the entire book should I decide to remove it from it's frame one day.
