I restored an old 1918 Julius Andrae wall phone for my mother for Christmas. It's pretty much original except it has a Western Electric transmitter and a reproduction shelf. I restored it for one reason and that was to make my mother happy. I think she liked it. The picture is of me, my mother and my sister.

I think you made her happy mtn ! Nice restoration and you're a good son mtn_man !!
Thanks Hedgewalker. It made for a fun Christmas. I also found a 1937 Willimantic CT. phone book to go with it. That is her hometown and the year she was born. It had some relatives in it. That was icing on the cake.
Great story. Have your Mom vote, she will "Love It" as I do.
