I love this bowl/vase, though it's nothing compared to the beautiful glass I drool over here. I got it at an estate sale several years ago. It's really nicely made. The clear glass part is textured (thin grooves) all around. There are four hobnail raised areas on the bowl and pedestal. The top of each hobnail stripe on the bowl contains 3 opalescent hobnails, with the others going down the side, in clear glass. The top is hand blown. The opalescent milky glass on top is done in a ribbon. It's really pretty when the light hits it and it's gorgeous with roses in it. I've been told by many people that it's made by ____(pick a company), so I gave up trying to figure out who actually made it. I was told that it was made in the 40's or 50's, but who knows. I just know that, even though it's not nearly as special as the glass in here, I still love it.

you have a very special opalescent rose bowl. It appears to be from the early 1900s by Northwood or Dugan in their Button Panels pattern.

Thank you TallCakes. I've looked for information about it off and on since I bought it, but could never find anything. I didn't consider myself a glass collector, until I saw this bowl. I haven't found much at estate sales, but I always look at the glass. I can't tell you how grateful I am. I had no idea it was that old, but I fell in love with it when I saw it, so I had to buy it. I didn't really care what it was. I just loved it. Now I'll have to read up on Northwood and Dugan. I can't thank you enough. I love this site and wish I had every piece of glass people have shared!
