This is a carte de visite (CDV) of an Ohio Civil War soldier.
He is pictured wearing a Union regulation 9 button frock coat.
His photograph was taken by Daugherty of Medina Ohio and is marked on the bottom of the card.
Additionally, the image carries a 2 cent revenue stamp on the back that has been stamp canceled by the photographer. The revenue tax was in force from 1 AUG 64 until 31 JUL 66. Most likely this photograph was taken upon the soldiers muster out from his unit in 1865.
