Already two years ago I placed these wonderful 14K golden seed pearls Amethyst earrings on this site. The Amethysts are quite large 2 x 1.3 cm (0.8 x 0.4") and have a beautiful purple color. These earrings are not hallmarked but they are acid tested for at least 14K and set in yellow gold. Up till now I don't know what period they could be. They have pussettes but I think these are replaced at a later time. Do you have any idea of the time period?

These are magnificent - of course! How are the seed pearls affixed to the mounting, please? I don't see any prongs. Thank you!

miKKoChristmas11, thanks for your question. The answer: the see pearls are on a very tiny gold thread from the top to bottom of thr earring.

Hi, Agram.m! Thank you very much for your kind response. I sometimes see brooches missing one or more of the seed pearls, and I wondered how they were secured. Thank you!

This design was popular in Georgian times, early 19th century. And I would agree that the ear posts are replacements.
