Here is another Wisconsin soldier carte de visite (CDV).
The card shows a bust shot of "H C Leland, Co C 11th R(egiment) W(isconsin) V(olunteers)".
Leland enlisted 17 SEP 61 into the 11th Wisconsin. The 11th was a Western regiment with service in Mississippi and Lousiana.
Pvt Leland was wounded at Port Gibson, MS on 1 MAY 63, eventually being discharged for disability on 29 SEP 64.
This image was made after 1 SEP 64 (due to the tax stamp) and most likely is a copy of an earlier muster photograph that Leland had taken at the outset of the War.
Reproduction of these images in any form is not authorized.
